surgical treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and is accepted as the gold standard technique in the treatment of prostates smaller than 80 grams.\n\nIn this method, after the patient is given general or spinal anesthesia, a special tool called a resectoscope is inserted through the urinary tract and the prostate tissue is cut and removed piece by piece. Various energy sources are used for this purpose. The energy source used can be monopolar or bipolar. Since the bipolar system does not pass any electric current through the patient's body, it can be safely applied to patients with pacemakers. The most preferred method in TUR surgeries today is the bipolar TUR system.\n\nWhile the prostate tissue is cut into strips, bleeding is stopped with the help of the device. The prostate tissues accumulated in the urinary bladder are then removed with a vacuum system. After the operation, a catheter is placed in the urinary tract and kept for an average of 2-3 days.\n\nSince there is no incision in the body in this procedure, recovery after the surgery is fast.
