Ablative Treatments
Ablasyon Tedavisi

Prostate enlargement is the most common prostate disease seen in one third of men over the age of 50 in Turkey.
Non-surgical micro-operation for prostate enlargement
Prostate enlargement is one of the most dangerous disorders that men face. Prostate enlargement, which is a nightmare for men, can progress to advanced stages and cause much bigger problems if left untreated. ‘Prostate laser ablation treatment’, a micro-invasive technique that is considered to be one of the most up-to-date treatment methods applied in the treatment of prostate enlargement and is performed without surgery, has begun to be applied in Turkey.
ELIMINATES RISKS
In treatment, drug therapy is primarily used, but if the symptoms cannot be relieved with medication, surgery is used. In surgery, open prostatectomy has been performed in the past years. Later, this technique has evolved and differentiated itself. The difficulty of prostate surgery and the problems experienced by patients have caused the science of urology to evolve continuously, and endoscopic surgery and minimally invasive surgical techniques have begun to be used. In recent years, micro-invasive treatment, which is currently being implemented in Turkey, has been developed.
SIDE EFFECTS ARE LOW
The patient's expectations and age are important criteria. Not every prostate enlargement requires treatment. In general, the patient is given drug treatment. However, side effects may occur with long-term drug use. For example, erection problems and ejaculation disorders may occur. For such reasons, drug treatment may be abandoned. When planning treatment, all conditions should be evaluated in detail. Urinary tract stenosis is a negative clinical condition that a man may experience. Again, ejaculation disorders and erectile dysfunction should also be evaluated in treatment planning. When considering possible side effects such as these, prostate laser ablation treatment is preferred due to its low side effects.
THERE IS NO PAIN OR SCARS
Prostate patients are concerned about the risk of bleeding, sexual dysfunction and urinary incontinence. Bleeding during surgery and the risk of urethral stricture are concerns. Therefore, treatment should eliminate these concerns. Prostate laser ablation largely eliminates these concerns. Treatment is advantageous for the elderly patient group who cannot receive anesthesia. It is also an advantage that there is usually no pain or scarring. Treatment does not need to be in the operating room. This also creates a positive effect on the patient's psychology. It is also an advantage for the patient to return to work in a short time.
Especially these days when the impact of the pandemic continues, not requiring a hospital stay or staying in hospital for a short period of time helps prevent the risk of contamination and infection.
THE PROCESS TAKES 30 MINUTES
The trend in medicine, including urology, is towards minimally invasive treatments. The development of technology, people communicating more with each other, and the increase in research and communication opportunities have also triggered the development of different treatment methods. Fewer incisions on the skin, fewer hospital stays, and returning to work in a short time are priorities for today's patients. As humanity accelerates, the health sector also accelerates. When looked at by physicians, prostate laser ablation is considered easy to apply. The application of ablation needles to the skin takes 5-10 minutes, and the bilateral laser procedure takes approximately 14 minutes. It is a procedure that takes a maximum of 30 minutes in total.
