❗️Thulium Fiber Laser technology is one of the newest technologies in the world for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia and kidney stones.
🟢ThuFLEP is the name given to minimally invasive prostate surgery performed with the Thulium Fiber Laser.
🟡Treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is performed successfully with the ThuFLEP (Thulium Fiber) method.
❓What Are the Differences Between HoLEP and ThuFLEP?
🔶Although procedures performed with the two laser energies are similar, the Thulium Fiber Laser offers better cutting power and less tissue penetration depth. Compared in terms of the energy used during the procedure, thulium laser energy affects the prostate capsule to a depth of only 0.25 mm.
🔷As a result, the energy used to separate the prostate tissue cannot reach the nerves responsible for erection and therefore does not damage them. The energy used in TURP reaches a depth of 4 mm, while with the holmium laser (HoLEP) this figure is 0.4 mm.
❓Recovery After Surgery❓
After ThuFLEP laser prostate surgery, the catheter is removed after about 1–2 days.
